Counselling

Counselling is an opportunity for you to talk to someone about your concerns, problems, feelings, negative behaviours or indeed anything you like, with someone who will listen without judgement, in a safe space and with total confidentiality.

As a trained counsellor my main job is to listen and help you find the answers within yourself to the problems that might be holding you back. Together we will work towards an improved state of mental wellbeing.

I practice Person Centred Counselling and can offer a number of different techniques including talk therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Hypnotherapy and others as required. As I'm also a coach it's worth mentioning that many of my counselling sessions contain coaching techniques, since my job is to help my clients to achieve a desired goal. For this reason I tend to focus on what you'd like to achieve in the future, rather than focussing on the problems of the past.

It's not my place as a counsellor to give direct advice and you should always do only what you believe is right for you. Sometimes my clients do ask for suggestions however, and of course I'm happy to offer ideas if I can, but only on the understanding that they are just suggestions to consider, not advice, and that you should always proceed as you think best.
